After studying visual communication in Weimar at the Bauhaus University, in Leipzig at the Academy of Visual Arts (HGB) and in Berlin at the University of the Arts (UDK), the trained typesetter graduated as a graphic designer. Franziska Schaum then studied as a master student at the UDK Berlin. In addition to teaching assignments at the University of Applied Sciences and Arts Hildesheim, Holzminden, Göttingen (HAWK) and at the UDK Berlin, she worked as a freelancer, primarily in the field of graphic design and illustration. Since 2016, she has also worked freelance in the pre-press department of a Berlin print shop.
Franziska Schaum succeeds Olaf Anders, who will retire in the near future. For the time being, both can be found in the print workshop in house 7b on the Wismar university campus.
