Students from the Bachelor's programme in Design – Product and Jewellery and from the Master's programme in Material Culture Design at the Faculty of Architecture and Design at Hochschule Wismar, University of Applied Sciences, will present their study results at the Grassimesse 2025 in Leipzig. Supervised and accompanied by Prof. Stephan Schulz. The Grassimesse is an international meeting place for the industry, serving as both an exhibition and a trade fair. Open to anyone interested in design and art.

Among others, the following will be exhibiting:
Julia Behrens, Helen Tamira Grübel, Lasse Johannes Köhler, Harika Lehmann, Korinna Rennefeld, Paula Zodel

We are exhibiting these works, among others:

  • Ceramics, Lasse Johannes Köhler: He presents various ceramic works. In a free structure, he models forms that grow out of the process. Their reactive surfaces are created by experimental glazes that run, layer and break open – open to chance, dynamics and material reactions. His works are gestural and demand a haptic, immediate engagement with form and surface. An early interest in philosophy and music shapes his approach: reflective, intuitive, open to the unplanned.
  • Intertwined, Harika Lehman: She examined the design potential of grown composites with a focus on their relevance and aesthetics. Using a furniture design as an example, she shows how these materials can be used sensibly without compromising functionality or usability. This clearly demonstrates that it is no longer necessary to rely on finite or unsustainable resources. Instead, alternative, biologically grown materials offer a sustainable solution that is both ecologically and aesthetically appealing
  • Ephemer – Der Anfang im Ende, Korinna Rennefeld: It deals with the potential of ephemeral product design. By focusing on transience, it aims to open up a new perspective on contemporary product design. Topics such as the cycle, the increase in value through transience and decay as a positive aspect are addressed in this study and examined in terms of their significance for the design process. In practical terms, the potential of ephemeral product design is demonstrated, with transience being understood not as a flaw but as an integral part of the design.
