Since beginning his studies in Communication Design and Media at the Faculty of Architecture ans Design at Hochschule Wismar, University of Applied Sciences, around six years ago, Gröger has celebrated a number of successes. Most recently, he received the golden cube of the internationally renowned ‘Young Ones Student Awards’ from the creative club “One Club of Creativity” for his AI photo project “Memories of my Youth” at Sony Hall in New York (USA). During his studies, he took part in excursions, including one to Sweden in 2025 for the “Kiruna International Snow Festival”. In September 2025, he also organised a photo exhibition together with his fellow student Maria Bunge Ramos, in which he presented the results of his practical semester in Scandinavia at the Kunstverein Wismar e.V., Galerie Hinter dem Rathaus.

“I will use the scholarship to explore the theme of “transience” through photography and other media. To examine fleeting moments and question existing traces of the past. This will take me across meadows, over hill and dale, and into the forest”, reveals Gröger.

Gröger began his one-month scholarship at the beginning of March 2026. Finally, he will show his work alongside other young artists in the exhibition “Baltic Next” at the Neues Kunsthaus Ahrenshoop (Bernhard-Seitz-Weg 3a, 18347 Ahrenshoop) from 29th March 2026 to 31th May 2026 (opening on 28th March 2026 at 5 p.m.). On Sunday, 29th March 2026, from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m., interested parties can also view the works of the current scholarship holders at the open day of the Künstlerhaus Lukas (Dorfstraße 35, 18347 Ahrenshoop). Further information can be found on the organiser's website.
