On Friday, 25 September 2026, first-year students from the Architecture, Design – Product and Jewellery, Interior Design, and Communication Design and Media programmes – both at Bachelor’s and Master’s level – presented the results of their impromptu project on the theme „Icarus from A to B’” to mark the start of the 2026/27 winter semester.
The task was to build a flying object capable of safely transporting a watermelon. The students were provided with cardboard, paper, paper tape and string. The students worked for four days in various groups of around twelve people each, including the final presentation and flight test. Criteria assessed included load-bearing capacity, stability, creativity and, of course, teamwork.
