(Wismar/ Jamel) On the weekend of 22th and 23th August 2025, the Faculty of Architecture ans Design at Hochschule Wismar, University of Applied Sciences, also took part in the „Jamel rockt den Förster” festival. Once again this year, the designers brought weatherproof stands for the Village of Democracy and Tolerance. At the Faculty of Architecture ans Design's stand, festival visitors could also have small monsters printed on T-shirts or bags using screen printing. The four different monster motifs for democracy and tolerance were originally designed by students Cathleen Grunewald and Jette Rieck from the Communication Design and Media programme.
In 2018, Hochschule Wismar, University of Applied Sciences, reported on its participation in the festival for the first time. Since then, our students have developed a corporate design as well as stands, outdoor furniture and lighting solutions in interdisciplinary projects across all degree programmes at the Faculty of Architecture and Design. The stands have been further developed year after year. Professors Oliver Hantke, Tom Hanke and Stephan Schulz from the Interior Design and Design programmes are primarily responsible for supervising the project.
This year's headliners were the Düsseldorf band „Die Toten Hosen” and the Chemnitz band „Kraftklub”. Other surprise bands, ranging from indie to alternative, punk and rap, took to the stage in Jamel to promote democracy and diversity.
