After apprenticeship as a sailmaker, the Hamburg native completed his studies in design with a focus on product design at Hochschule Wismar, University of Applied Sciences: Technoloy, Business and Design, in 2010. In his diploma, he dealt with the topic of "kitesurfing harness".
After various professional stations, he most recently worked as a gallery and exhibition technician at Kunstverein Wiligrad e.V. in Schwerin/ Lübstorf. He lives in Wismar and since his studies has been involved in a variety of freelance projects with a focus on product design, boat building and sailing.
Philip Humpf works part-time in the workshops of the Faculty of Architecture and Design.
