For all our services at the Faculty of Architecture Design and at the University of Wismar, you need the central user ID of the ITSMZ. You will receive this on paper together with your student ID. This identifier is essential for all central digital services, please handle the access data safely and carefully.

For user account management, e.g. To change your own password (recommended) or define a secondary e-mail address (recommended), the page ums.hs-wismar.de is relevant.

The campus-wide standard WLAN is eduroam ("HSW-Guest" is only intended for temporary access), the setup of "eduroam" requires the installation of additional software (certificates), you can find instructions for all common desktop and mobile systems here. For security reasons, access to university WLANs is generally only possible with an active university login. Eduroam is a technical network within colleges and universities, available in 106 countries worldwide: https://eduroam.org/where/

The preferred electronic communication channel at the faculty is e-mail, e-mail addresses of the staff and professors are according to the following scheme: first name.surname@hs-wismar.de, the e-mail addresses of the students have this scheme: first letter of the first name.lastname@stud.hs-wismar.de. The address for webmail is https://myoffice.hs-wismar.de. For setting up your own e-mail client and for forwarding the university address to a private e-mail address (highly recommended), please follow these instructions.

Our course portal Stud.IP (the system language can be changed to English) is the most important point of contact in digital teaching; Here all courses are linked with the corresponding tools (calendar, notifications, video conferences ...). The most important functions for students there are entering / removing courses plus the resulting timetable, the course directory (new since this winter semester), file manager and the message system. The message system is a proprietary system, which means that it is based on Stud.IP itself and has nothing to do with e-mail. However, notifications can be set up in Stud.IP that provide information via e-mail and, in some cases, also pack the Stud.IP messages into these e-mail notifications. 

Our primary video conference system is BigBlueButton or "BBB" for short. All data there is on servers of the University of Wismar and the University of Rostock. Our video conferences are linked via the courses from Stud.IP or managed in a more open system (intended for external guests without university access data). To use the full functionality (screen sharing), we recommend Google Chrome. It is possible to hold BBB conferences in the smartphone / tablet browser without installing additional software ("Apps"). The CampusCloud system offers 5 GB of storage space for students. The data there can be easily shared via private links. The same applies here: the data there is stored on the states own computer systems. It can be easily operated via the browser or installed as extra client software for all common desktop and mobile systems. Detailed information here.

The Web VPN portal is primarily used to use the online services available via the university library, such as certain publishing offers and research tools. The instructions are here (german). Please note that this service is only available outside the university network.
