The historic old towns of Wismar and Stralsund have been UNESCO World Heritage Sites since 2002. A few days ago, the city of Schwerin applied to UNESCO for this title with its residential ensemble. Four young women studying communication design and media at our university in Wismar designed the associated application documents. The corporate design for the Residence Ensemble as well as the layout of the nomination dossier and the management plan had been developed by Celine Brussel, Iris Groneick, Bettina Sieg and Marie-Louise Windrum since the summer semester of 2022. The project was supervised by Professor Hanka Polkehn. The content of the cooperation work was coordinated directly with Schwerin's World Heritage Coordinator Linda Holung.
Prof. Hanka Polkehn, Celine Brussel, Marie-Louise Windrum and Iris Groneick (from left to right) each handed over a copy of the application documents in German to the Lord Mayor of Schwerin, Dr. Rico Badenschier, as well as to the representatives of the state capital.
