Matthias Ludwig ist seit 2001 Architekturprofessor an der Hochschule Wismar und Partner in der Stuttgarter Architekturfirma "bfa I büro für architektur". Die Arbeiten des Büros sind mehrfach mit nationalen Preisen ausgezeichnet und außerdem wurde das Büro vom englischen Wallpaper Magazin zum “Top 25 architect practices around the world" auserwählt. Studiert hat er unter Peter Cook an der Bartlett School of Architecture des University College London und an der Städelschule in Frankfurt, außerdem in Stuttgart und Leicester. Matthias Ludwig erhielt ein Stipendium an der Akademie Schloss Solitude, hat an der Staatlichen Akademie für Bildende Künste in Stuttgart und an der Curtin University in Perth unterrichtet, bevor er in Wismar zum Professor ernannt wurde. Seine Forschungsgebiet liegt im Bereich der Mobilen Architektur, Ludwig ist Autor des Buches Mobile Architektur – Geschichte und Entwicklung modularer und transportabler Bauten. Seit 2012 ist er Leiter des Müther-Archivs an der Hochschule Wismar.

Matthias Ludwig is Professor of Architecture at the Hochschule Wismar and partner in the Stuttgart-based architectural firm "bfa I büro für architektur". The work of his practice has won multiple national awards and has been named by wallpaper magazine as one of the  “Top 25 architect practices around the world".
He studied at SAC under Peter Cook, at the University of Applied Science, Stuttgart and The Bartlett, University College London . Matthias held a fellowship at the Akademie Schloss Solitude in Stuttgart and has taught at the University of Western Australia in Perth and at the State Art Academy in Stuttgart before his professorial appointment at Wismar. His research focuses on mobile architecture and prefabricated buildings and he is author of the book Mobile Architektur - Geschichte und Entwicklung modularer und transportabler Bauten. In 2012, he was appointed as the director of the Ulrich Müther - Archive at the University of Applied Sciences Wismar.
